Prerequisites
- Your storefront must forward click, add-to-cart, and purchase events to the Beacon API with the
attributionTokenreturned by the Browse API. Without these events, the performance section shows empty results.
Steps
- In the dashboard, go to Collections.
- Click the collection you want to inspect.
- Use the page sections described below to review or update the collection.
Performance strip
The performance strip at the top of the page summarizes how the collection is performing right now. Each tile shows the absolute value and the percent change versus the prior period of the same length.- Impressions — Collection page views where Layers served products.
- Clicks (CTR) — Click-through rate on those impressions.
- Add-to-Cart — Add-to-cart rate on those impressions.
- Revenue — Total attributed revenue for the timeframe.
Products
Below the performance strip, Layers shows a paginated grid of every product currently in the collection — 24 per page. Each tile shows the product image, title, vendor, price, and a status badge if the product is indraft or archived state. Click a tile to open the product details page.
Sidebar
The right sidebar gives you quick access to the most common collection-level controls:- Default Sort Order — The sort order that applies when no merchandising rule overrides it. Pick from any storefront-enabled sort order, or Not Set to leave the collection on the platform default.
- Merchandising Rules — Every rule that targets this collection’s handle, with its enabled state. Click a rule to open it for editing, or + New to create one targeting this collection. The View all rules link takes you to the Merchandise list pre-filtered by the collection handle.
Page header actions
The overflow menu in the page header includes:- View Performance — Opens the full performance sheet (see below).
- Sync Products — Re-pulls this collection’s product list from Shopify. Use this when a product was added or removed in Shopify and the change hasn’t appeared yet. See Manually resync a single collection.
- View on Shopify — Opens the collection in your Shopify admin in a new tab.
- Create Merchandising Rule — Starts a new merchandising rule pre-targeted at this collection.
Full performance sheet
Click View Performance in the page header to open the sheet with a richer breakdown.KPI cards
The sheet shows two rows of metrics for the selected timeframe. Primary tiles:- Impressions — Collection page views where products were served.
- CTR — Percentage of impressions that resulted in a product click.
- ATC — Percentage of impressions that resulted in an add to cart.
- Conv — Percentage of impressions that resulted in a purchase.
- Rev — Total attributed revenue.
- RPI — Revenue per impression: average revenue generated per page view. Highlighted because it’s the single best summary of how well the collection earns per visit.
- Zero-click — Percentage of browse sessions where no product was clicked. Lower is better.
- Clicks/session — Average number of product clicks per browse session.
- Prod/100 sess — Unique products clicked per 100 browse sessions, a measure of how broadly shoppers explore the collection.
Performance trend
A line chart of CTR and RPI across the selected timeframe, so you can see whether the collection is improving, holding steady, or sliding day over day.How clicks, add-to-carts, and purchases are counted
Layers reports blended counts: a sum of events tied directly to the request’sattributionToken plus modeled events from the same browsing session that happened within ten minutes of the collection being browsed. Modeled events that occurred more than two minutes after the impression are weighted at half a count to reflect the lower confidence that this collection drove them.
This keeps your collection’s totals accurate even when the attributionToken doesn’t survive the full path to checkout. See Metrics: Blended attribution for the full set of attribution categories.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
All metrics show — | No tracked events received yet for this collection | Confirm your storefront forwards the attributionToken to the Beacon API on every shopper interaction. |
| Sections show “Unavailable” | Analytics warehouse not provisioned for the store | Contact support to enable performance analytics on the store. |
| Products list is missing items you expect | Shopify added products to the collection after the last sync | Use Sync Products from the page header. See Manually resync a single collection. |
| Default sort order didn’t apply on the storefront | A merchandising rule with a different sort order is winning for the collection | Check the Merchandising Rules sidebar for an enabled rule that overrides the default. See Multiple rules per collection. |
