Stores with larger catalogs may hit rate limits when Layers crawls product images. A crawler signature lets Layers authenticate its image requests, reducing blocks and speeding up media syncing.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Shopify store with Layers installed.
  • You have access to your Shopify admin.

Create a crawler signature in Shopify

  1. In your Shopify admin, navigate to Online Store > Preferences.
  2. Follow Shopify’s guide to create a crawler signature.
  3. Copy the following values:
    • Your Signature-Input value
    • Your Signature value

Send the values to Layers Support

Send the Signature-Input and Signature values to Layers Support. The team configures these in your store settings so Layers can authenticate its image requests.
