Prerequisites
- Your store must be past onboarding. See Install if you have just installed Layers.
- Sync events from your storefront to the Beacon API so the headline metrics have data to show.
What you can see
The Home page is organized into four areas:Date range and comparison
At the top of the page you choose the window every metric on the page reports against:- Date range — pick a relative window such as Past 7 days, a calendar window such as This month, or a custom range.
- Compare to — pick the baseline you want every metric compared against. Options include Previous period, Previous month, Previous year, and Previous year (match day of week).
Headline metrics
A row of metric cards summarizes your storefront over the selected window. Each card shows the current value, a sparkline, and the percent change versus the comparison period. Cards typically include search volume, revenue, orders, and recommendation block engagement, but the exact set is store-specific. Click any card to open its full report in Reports for deeper analysis. Every card type opens a report now — a saved metric opens its report, and an ad-hoc card opens a new report seeded with that card’s query so you can edit it.Notices
If Layers detects something that needs your attention — for example, a stuck catalog sync or a misconfigured integration — it appears here as an inline notice with a one-click action to resolve it.Insights carousel
Below the headline metrics, the Insights carousel surfaces one card at a time from your Lab → Insights feed — trends, revenue attribution, anomalies, and opportunities Layers detected in recent shopper activity. Use the prev and next controls to page through up to six recent insights, or select View all insights to open the full feed. The carousel is hidden until Layers has at least one insight worth showing.Product updates
The lower half of the page highlights what is new in Layers, with links to the relevant feature, an in-product CTA, and a link to the full changelog entry. Cards can be dismissed individually so the list stays focused on what you have not seen yet.Quick links to every area
Use the Keep building in Layers modal to jump to any area of the dashboard. The modal groups every destination by:- Merchandising — rules, sort orders, sequences, blocks, product families.
- Search & Discovery — autocomplete, request transforms, query expansions, semantic redirects.
- Catalog & Data — catalog, attributes, collections, metafields.
- Analytics & Evaluation — reports, analytics dashboards, search and image testing, evaluation runs.
- Integrations — third-party integrations and API access.
