# Manage variant breakouts in bulk

> Publish or unpublish multiple variant breakouts from the Variant Breakouts list, or toggle a single breakout's status from the row actions menu.

The **Variant Breakouts** list supports multi-select so you can publish or pause many breakouts in a single action. This is useful for seasonal launches, A/B tests, or quickly reverting a batch of breakouts after a campaign ends. You can also toggle a single breakout's status from its row actions without opening the edit page.

## Toggle status from the row actions

1. Go to **Merchandising** → **Variant Breakouts**.
2. Find the breakout you want to publish or unpublish.
3. Click the actions menu on its row.
4. Select **Publish** if the breakout is currently a draft, or **Unpublish** if it is currently live.

The change applies immediately and the row updates to reflect the new status. Use the **Manage** option in the same menu to open the full edit page.

## Publish or unpublish in bulk

1. Go to **Merchandising** → **Variant Breakouts**.
2. Use the search box or any column filter to narrow the list to the breakouts you want to act on.
3. Click **Select** in the actions column header to enter selection mode.
4. Tick the checkbox on each breakout. To select a range, click the first checkbox, then hold **Shift** and click the last one — every row in between is selected automatically.
5. (Optional) Open the **selected** dropdown next to the row count and click **Select all results** to extend your selection to every breakout that matches the current filters, including breakouts on other pages.
6. Open the **Actions** dropdown and select one of the following:
   * **Publish** — Activates every selected draft breakout so it applies on the storefront.
   * **Unpublish** — Moves selected live breakouts back to draft. Configuration is preserved and the breakout can be republished at any time.
7. When you're done, click **Actions** → **Done selecting** to exit selection mode.

## Selection scope

The dropdown next to the selection count shows how many breakouts are currently selected and lets you switch between two scopes:

* **Page selection** (default) — Only the rows you ticked are included.
* **All results** — Every breakout matching your current search, filters, and sort is included, even rows on other pages. The count shows the full filtered total.

To narrow an **All results** selection, click **Unselect all** from the same dropdown and re-tick individual rows.

  Bulk **Publish** still respects overlap validation. A breakout that would conflict with another published breakout sharing the same option code and scope is skipped. See [Edit or delete a variant breakout](/help/merchandising/edit-delete-variant-breakout) for details on overlap rules.

<Tip>
  Combine the status filter with **Select all results** to flip every draft breakout live for a launch, then revert with a second bulk **Unpublish** when the campaign ends.
