# View product details

> Open a product from the Products list to inspect its media, variants, metafields, and Shopify metadata in a focused dashboard view.

The product details page gives you a single place to inspect everything Layers has synced for a product — featured media, the full variant list with prices and inventory, options, metafields, and category metadata — without leaving the dashboard or jumping to Shopify.

## When to use this

* You want to confirm Layers has the latest data for a product after editing it in Shopify.
* You need to verify variant pricing, inventory, or selected options before pinning a product in a merchandising rule.
* You're debugging why a product isn't appearing where you expect and want to inspect its tags, metafields, or status.

## Steps

1. In the dashboard, go to **Products**.
2. Find the product in the list and click its title (or the row).
3. Review the product detail page.

## What you can see

The page is split into a media-and-summary area, a variants table, and a metafields table.

* **Media** — A hero image, secondary images, and any additional photos in a grid. The featured media (if set) appears first.
* **Status badge** — Shows whether the product is `active`, `draft`, or `archived` in Shopify.
* **Summary** — Vendor, product type, handle, tags, category, and the published date.
* **Variants** — Every variant with its title, SKU, price, compare-at price, inventory, and selected options. When a product has many variants and a shared first option (for example, color), Layers groups them so the table stays readable. Click a variant row to open a side sheet with that variant's full metafield list. Each row also has an **Actions** column with a **Sync inventory from Shopify** button — see [Manually resync variant inventory](/help/catalog/resync-variant-inventory).
* **Metafields** — A table of namespace, key, and value for every product-level metafield Layers has synced.

## Actions

The page header provides quick actions for the product:

* **Sync from Shopify** — Refresh this product's data without resyncing the rest of your catalog. Useful when a Shopify edit hasn't propagated yet. See [Manually resync a single product](/help/catalog/resync-single-product).
* **View on Shopify** — Open the product in your Shopify admin in a new tab.

## Tips

* Use the breadcrumb at the top of the page to jump back to **Products** or to the dashboard root.
* Variant rows show a thumbnail when the variant has its own featured media — useful for spot-checking that color or material variants point at the right photo.
* If a variant's `inventory_quantity` looks stale, run **Sync from Shopify** from the page header to pull the latest values, or use the per-variant **Sync inventory from Shopify** action in the variants table to refresh just that variant.
