# Manually resync variant inventory

> Refresh inventory levels for a single Shopify variant from the product details page without resyncing the rest of the product or your catalog.

When a single variant's inventory is out of sync — for example, after a stock adjustment in Shopify that has not yet propagated through webhooks — you can pull the latest inventory levels for just that variant from the product details page.

## When to use this

* A variant's quantity in Layers does not match what you see in Shopify.
* Inventory webhooks were delayed or missed for one variant.
* You want to verify per-location inventory for a specific variant without running a full product or catalog sync.

## Steps

1. In the dashboard, go to **Products**.
2. Open the product that contains the variant you want to refresh.
3. In the **Variants** table, find the variant's row.
4. In the **Actions** column, click the refresh icon (**Sync inventory from Shopify**).
5. Wait for the **Inventory Sync in progress...** task to complete, then reload the page to see updated inventory.

## What gets synced

* Inventory quantity at every active location for the selected variant.
* The variant's availability flag, which is recalculated after the sync.
* Per-location stock data used by location-aware sort orders and the [online-fulfilling locations](/shopify-integration/catalog-sync#online-fulfilling-locations-feature) availability calculation, when enabled.

Other variants, product-level fields, metafields, and media are not touched — use [Manually resync a single product](/help/catalog/resync-single-product) if you need those refreshed too.

## Tips

* The sync respects your store's [inventory sync settings](/shopify-integration/catalog-sync#per-variant-per-location-inventory-sync). If per-variant, per-location inventory sync is turned off and your store does not otherwise sync inventory, the action completes without changes.
* Each click creates a visible task you can follow from the dashboard task list, so you can confirm when the refresh finishes.
* If the variant cannot be found (for example, it was just deleted in Shopify), the dashboard shows a **Variant Not Found** error — refresh the page and try again.
