# Sort facet values

> Control the order facet values appear to shoppers on collection pages, with options for alphabetical, count-based, and custom ordering across grouped facets.

## Steps

1. Open the attribute and go to the **Faceting** tab.
2. Switch **Sort** from **Automatic** to **Manual**.
3. Drag values up or down to change their order.
4. Save and preview the facet menu in your store.

## Tips

* Put the most popular or helpful options near the top.
* Keep ordering consistent across related facets where possible.
